Decathlon Club Cafe
With NIKE expanding its Beaverton campus, a new cafeteria was warranted. The theme for this cafe was based on NIKE Runnings early roots. Steve Prefontaine, planned to open a Decathlon club in Eugene OR, where members of the public could come and learn the finer points of running. Unfortunately, due to Pre's early death, this never happened, but the Decathlon Cafe was a way to honor his idea.
I managed the legal and sports marketing approvals and was responsible for choosing our fabrication vendors to make sure the creative intent came to life. As is always the case, our design partners and vendors allow us to have success. When installing the custom wood wall in the Sub 4 cafe, a sprinkler was hit. Before I even knew what had happened, Rob from Steelab had everything handled and we only lost a couple of days in the project schedule.
Having an experienced architect partner, Fieldwork Design, along for the ride proved extremely valuable for making the chainlink fence SUB 4 wall come to life.
